I received a grant earlier this year that will allow me to travel to the annual SXSW Interactive conference in just a week. While I’ve been researching for a month in my best attempt to find the BEST panels, talks, events, and happy hours I figured perhaps I should have some very basic & simple goals as well.
When I first threw myself into the hours of researching and scheduling this trip I quickly became overwhelmed. This conference is HUGE. There’s literally 5 different things I want to be doing at any given time. Since then I’ve resolved that there’s no possible way I can do and see everything — so embracing a more relaxed view is necessary.
Aside from eating breakfast tacos and trying a new coffee place every morning here are some of the more basic things I hope to accomplish.
- Meet new people that are passionate about the technology field
- Try some VR
- Attend at least 2–3 keynotes and panels a day
- Take notes / Post daily recaps here
- Find some panels that don’t directly relate to what I do currently or what I want to do in the future
- See some live music in the evenings
- Come home with inspired ideas
If anyone has any tips for me I’m open to any and all suggestions (hint: where is best BBQ?)
